Peace Agreement and Sudan Elections

With national elections quickly approaching, the world’s eyes are turned to Sudan. We’re at a critical point. There’s a lot of concern that violent conflict may be around the corner depending on what actions the parties in Sudan take in the weeks and months ahead.

Unfortunately, many of the reforms necessary to secure an environment conducive to free and fair elections have not been implemented. At this crucial juncture, robust U.S. diplomatic engagement is needed to ensure the credibility of the elections.
