Success! Financial Reform Bill addresses Conflict Minerals

On Friday, June 25, Congress passed a hotly-contested financial reform package that included key language related to Conflict Minerals. Grassroots activists had fought hard for the last 48 hours to ensure this legislation included language requiring accountability for electronics products manufactured using minerals obtained from mining operations in Eastern Congo that fuel its ongoing conflict.

The key amendment was not only passed, but the language strengthened. This is a major victory for anti-genocide activists in the United States and abroad. Well done!
